Who makes this warranty
Six Star Automotive (hereafter referred to as SSA) offers to its customers a 24 month / 24,000 mile (parts and labor) warranty, which is longer than most dealerships. The length of this warranty takes into consideration the extreme conditions of this climate and our specific location with the prevalence of rough (and dirt) roads, which are considered severe driving conditions by manufacturers, the use of Magnesium Chloride in winter, and the mountain resort descent. Given the quality of most parts available since (and before) the pandemic, and the ever decreasing warranties provided by parts suppliers (as low as 6 mo/6000 miles), especially for older vehicles, the length of SSA’s warranty is very reasonable. SSA strives to give the best service and assurance to its customers, and in doing so we provide a longer warranty as part of our pledge to excellence and to give our customers peace of mind knowing it will be honored in all applicable cases.
What you must do to obtain warranty service
You must keep a copy of the original repair invoice and present it when seeking service under this Warranty. If warranty work is performed, you must temporarily surrender possession of the original repair invoice, or a legible copy of the same.
In specific instances (authorized by the owner only) SSA may refund half of the towing expenses (within 20 miles) incurred by the customer if the concern is deemed by SSA to be related to a warrantied service or repair within the above mentioned time frame or mileage interval.
Limitations and Exemptions
This warranty is applicable to the original purchaser only and for the repairs or diagnosis specifically detailed in the original invoice, it is non-transferable or redeemable by any other party or for any other reason.
Repairs made to the vehicle (specifically the warrantied repairs) by another repair facility without first contacting SSA to obtain services pertaining to this warranty will result in all obligations under this warranty being deemed void.
Evidence of tampering or alterations to the warranted repair or service will result in all obligations under this warranty being deemed void.
This warranty does not cover, nor is it extended to, customer’s towing charges, car rental, lodging, lost wages, interruption in business or vacation, any charges incurred by any person, or any other charges or amounts incidental or related to this warranty.
This warranty does not cover, nor is it extended to, any repairs or replacements made necessary by misuse, modification, negligence, abuse, neglect, or any cause other than normal use and operation of the vehicle.
This warranty does not cover, nor is it extended to, any used parts, either purchased at customer’s request, or parts (new or used) provided by the customer or any party other than SSA through its standard vendors and affiliates.
This warranty is contingent on the vehicle receiving reasonable and necessary maintenance during the warranty period. Concerns deemed by SSA to be due to lack of necessary maintenance are not covered.
If there is a defect in either materials or workmanship within the warranty period, SSA shall have the option to either perform remedial service work at no charge to you, replace the defective warranted part(s) without charge to you, or refund to you the entire charge for the warranted repairs, minus any previous refunds, credits, or the value of any previous warranty work performed.
Warranty repair costs (retail value) shall in no case exceed the costs of the original related repair or service.
You must pay for any non-warranty service you order to be performed at the same time as the warranty service. This warranty will not apply to your repaired vehicle if it has been damaged by abnormal use, misuse, neglect, accident, alteration or "tampering with" (by other than SSA or its employees). This Warranty does not cover replacement or repairs due to normal wear and tear. SSA employees and/or agents do not have authority to modify the terms of this warranty nor to make any promises in addition to those contained in this warranty. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT IN ANY WAY INCLUDE INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (additional expenses which you may incur as the result of faulty repair or service) or cover parts and labor due to normal wear and tear. This limited warranty is made by Six Star Automotive, SSA warrants that the above repairs and services performed at their location will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months or 24,000 miles of regular use, whichever comes first, measured from the date of the first repair and the odometer reading shown on the original repair order.
AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS EXCLUDED FROM WARRANTY
This Warranty does not cover the following repair(s) or replacement(s),even though the facility may offer other services. Specifically excluded are any repairs involving replacement or removal of internally lubricated parts and other such repairs as listed below. Automotive repairs excluded from the Warranty include:
1. Any internal repairs or replacement of internal components,
or replacement of engine assembly.
II. TRANSMISSION, TRANSAXLES
Automatic – any internal repair or component replacement
Manual – any internal repair or component replacement
Clutches – clutch component or assembly repair and replacement
III. DRIVE AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY
Any repair or component replacement requiring the removal of internally lubricated components or replacement of the drive axle/differential assembly
Ring gear, pinion shaft and related gears
Associated bearing with above
IV. AUTO BODY, PAINT, MOLDING REPAIR
Any repair or materials related to auto body repair work
Glass related repairs
V. REPAIRS PERFORMED ON COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
VIII. USED OR SALVAGED PARTS
IX. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICES (excluding belt and hose replacement)
